Five people lost their lives after a gunman opened fire in Fort Lauderdale, Florida International airport. The bloody rampage also left eight people injured as the panic mode spread at the airport with people running for a cover.
The rampage took place at the baggage claim area at country’s one of the busiest airports. The scene was flooded by paramedics and local law enforcement officers while all flights were shut down. "Right now, this scene is considered fluid and active," said Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. The attacker has been taken into custody stated Israel, also confirming that the attacker is unharmed as no law enforcement fired shots at him.
The attacker as been identified as Santiago, 26, who apart from carrying a gun was also carrying an Army ID. The law enforcement officials confirmed that Santiago took his luggage, went to the restroom where he loaded his gun before coming out and breaking it loose at the people at the baggage claim area.
