In 2013, the Supreme Court of India passed a law to regulate the open sale of acid. The legislation was welcome but the ground realities haven’t changed. Every day, somewhere in India, two women have their faces permanently disfigured by a splash of concentrated acid. While they will never get back what they lost in a second of violence, Ria Sharma has resolved to chart a way back for these brave women.
