CyanogenMod has announced that CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 has been released for testing. According to the blog this release would serveas an updated to Android’s 2.3.4 version. Additionally, it will support many new devices and will include a host of new features.

The blog confirms that the latest version will be stable and easy to use on an everyday-basis, but warns that as a general rule a backup must be taken before updating to the latest version. It has suggested that ‘the best way to install the CM7.1-RC1 is to use ROM Manager’. As an alternate the latest version is now available for download from the mirror network.
The blog also suggests that people give their feedback on the new version. Additionally, the company, through the blog, encouraged users to use the forums and report bugs at the issue tracker; and also offer thanks to the users that have been supporting CyanogenMod.
