Solvency Certificate
Solvency certificate is issued to individual/firms declaring their financial standing for purpose such as standing surety in favour of some body, securing loans, securing business contractors etc. Solvency certificate is issued on the basis of salaries drawn by Govt. Employees/individuals, the properties owned by the applicants in their own name and Sales Tax/Income Tax returns.

Q. Where do I have to go and during which hours?
To the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate in whose jurisdiction in whose jurisdiction you reside or where the firm is located during 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on any working day. Click Here to obtain the contact address of the SDM in whose jurisdiction in your colony lies.
Q. Which papers/documents/fees, do I take with me?
a) Solvency certificate to Government Servants
- Application form, duly filled in.
- Pay Slip duly signed by the competent authority such as Drawing & Disbursing Officer, Head of Office/Department.
- Photocopy of the identity card, attested by a Gazetted Officer.
- Photocopy of ration card showing Delhi address, duly attested.
- Affidavit stating the designation, salary drawn, name of the Deptt. where employed and that he/she has not stood surety for anyone earlier in or outside Delhi. For proforma of affidavit Click here.
(b) Solvency certificate on the basis of Income Tax to a Salaried individual. Application form duly filled in. Photocopy of the Income Tax assessment/Income Tax returns filed by the applicant.
Photocopy of ration card showing Delhi address, duly attested.
Affidavit stating the designation, salary drawn, name of the company/firm where employed and that he/she has not stood surety for anyone prior to this in or outside Delhi. For proforma of affidavit Click here.
(c) Solvency certificate to an individual or a firm on the basis of property.
- Application form, duly filled in.
- Photocopy of the Sale Deed (duly registered) showing the applicant as the sole proprietor of the property in question.
- Original to be produced for examination.
- Valuation certificate prepared by a Govt. approved valuer showing the present value of the property in question. Solvency certificate is issued upto 75% of that value.
- Ration card in case of individual, showing Delhi address. In case of the firm, the firm should be located in Delhi.
- Affidavit that the said property has not been mortgaged. For proforma of affidavit Click here.
Q. What will be the criteria used while deciding my case?
After the receipt of the application, the same is sent to Sub-Registrar in whose office the ownership document has been registered, for enquiry and report. In case the report is favourable, the requisite certificate is issued to the applicant.
