Fact File:

On November 31, both sisters, student of B.Sc (final year) were returning to their village. On the way, some boys who were also travelling in the same Haryana roadways bus started throwing chits towards the girls with their mobile number written on them.

When the girls resisted, boys resorted to violence. Only one pregnant woman in the bus took stand for the girls.

Boys even misbehaved with her prompting the girls to retaliate with kicks, punches and belts. The entire episode was recorded on a mobile camera by a fellow passenger.

The video was posted on the internet and attracted huge attention, forcing the administration to take action against the involved youths. The conductor and bus driver of the bus were also suspended.

All the three boys-Kuldeep, Mohit and Deepak-had applied for recruitment in the army. But army, reacting to the incident, said that it has no place for them.

Meanwhile, Haryana government decided to honour the girls for their bravery, on January 26.

Father of Arti and Pooja works in the electricity department and says that if ever girl becomes daring like his daughters, then eve-teasing will automatically stop.

Just two days after the incident, another video of the same girls appeared in which they were shown beating another boy. This raised the doubts on the character of these girls.

Interestingly, during an interview, girls said that they have faced eve-teasing nearly two thousand times and now they have learned how to response.

Boys in their defence said that they have done nothing like what the girls have alleged.

Later, government reversed its decision of honouring the girls.
