Octogenarian Hindu Man Beaten in Pakistan for Eating During Ramzan

In yet another incident of brutality on Hindus in Pakistan, an octogenarian man was brutally beaten for eating before iftaar.
 
According to reports, Gokal Das – a resident of Hayat Pitafi in a remote village of Ghotki district – was beaten by a by a police constable and his brother for having biryani in public.
 
The police said that the two brothers left the elderly man bleeding. He was later taken to a hospital in nearby Mirpur Mathelo where he was treated for his wounds.
 
Pictures of the octogenarian man with wounds soon went viral on social media and #Justice4GokalDas started trending on microblogging site Twitter.
 
Meanwhile, a complaint was filed by Vindod Kumar, grandson of victim Gokal Das.
 
The accused policeman was arrested after social media campaign calling for justice for the old man.
 
“A cop named Ali Hassan – posted in Ghotki district's Hayat Pitafi town – was arrested on charges of torturing and injuring Gokal Das, an octogenarian,” the Dawn reported.
