Fake goods and products in the fashion realm have bombarded the market nowadays while giving nightmares to fashion lovers and top fashion brands. However, it seems as the law has finally woken up to the menace and all set to take strict action against fraudsters.
A Ludhiana based firm came under the scrutiny of Delhi High Court and was ordered to stop manufacturing, selling or dealing goods bearing the logo of renowned French Fashion house Louis Vuitton Malletier.
Louis Vuitton (LV) had earlier filed a petition alleging that a company ‘Guru Kripa’ was selling counterfeit products bearing its registered trademarks. This in turn had diminished the reputation of their brand while burdening them with irreparable losses.
Moreover, LV has also sought damages of over Rs 1 crore from the firm and its proprietors.
As the matter came up for hearing, fashion lovers’ support completely tilted towards LV. The court also supported the global fashion house in its judgement and issued summons to Guru Kripa and its proprietors. The next hearing in the issue has been postponed till October 4.
LV has established a stronghold in the fashion industry and famed for its luxury trunks and goods such as shoes, jewellery, sunglasses and various accessories. Youth all over the globe is bedazzled by the supreme quality, textures and excellent designs of LV products.
The fashion giant and its LV monogram are among the world’s most valuable brands. Famous models and celebrities like Madonna, Sean Connery, Keith Richards, Angelina Jolie, etc. have been a part of its marketing campaigns. Further, international fashion magazines have done various features on it, thus enhancing its popularity.
