Qandeel Baloch’s Brother Admits Drugging and Killing Her, Says He Has No Regrets

A day after controversial Pak model Qandeel Baloch was found dead at her family house in Multan, police has arrested her brother from Punjab province for strangulating to death the model for ‘dishonouring’ the family's reputation.
 
Qandeel's younger brother Waseem, who was arrested in Dera Ghazi Khan, confessed that he drugged and strangled his sister in a press conference.
   
He said that he killed her as she brought "dishonour to the Baloch name" due to risque videos and statements on social media.
   
"There were other issues as well…Like the Maulvi issue," he said, in an apparent reference to a controversy surrounding Qandeel's selfies with Mufti Abdul Qavi, which hit the headlines last month.
 
The selfie had led to the suspension of Mufti Qawi's membership from the Ruet-e-Hilal committee.
   
"She wasn't aware I was killing her. I gave her a tablet and then strangled her," he said.
   
The actor-cum-model was strangled to death in her house in Multan's Karimabad area and her body was discovered by her father Muhammad Azeem.

 
According to reports, Baloch had been receiving threats from her family to quit modeling and her provocative appearances on social media. Police claims that her brother had even threatened her over her post and videos on social media.
 
Three weeks ago, she had written to the interior minister, the director general of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the senior superintendent of Islamabad asking them to provide security to her.
 
Baloch, who shot to fame in Pakistan in 2014 after a video of her pouting for the camera, had said her life is in danger and that she is being threatened via calls on her mobile number
 
She was a media sensation and unbelievably bold and was also considered highly controversial.
 
Baloch became famous through her tireless self-promotion and suggestive "selfies" posted on social media and had amassed tens of thousands of followers.
 
She had expressed her desire many times to marry ex-cricketer and opposition politician Imran Khan.
