India is currently gearing-up for its 4th Test series against the West Indies that is set to kick-start on the 18th of this month. While the cricketing world gears up for this series, Indian cricketers are bound to miss their dear sisters and family back home cause after all, 18th of August is also celebrated as the brother-sister relationship around the country.
Raksha Bandhan, Rakhi Purnima or plain old Rakhi, not just celebrates the love between a brother and a sister, but also depicts the duties the duo has towards one another. Although a Hindu festival, it has turned out to be quite the secular festive season in the country.
The thread that’s tied around the wrist of the brother not just symbolises their bond for life, but is also a symbol of the life-long protection that’s given by the brother.
Over the period of time, we’ve seen several sportspersons giving credits to their sister on media for all that they have achieved in their life. Having a special place for them in their hearts, they soak in the Rakhi spirit just like the lot of us.
Since the very able sport persons will be unable to spend this special day with their loving sisters, we decided to dedicate this piece for the dear ones who’ve been their brothers back bone all these years.
So go on and take a look at the ladies who’re the prime reasons for your favourite cricketers’ achievements!
