Bijnor Jama Masjid Head Imam Rapes Woman on the Pretext of ‘Rescuing Her from Evil Spirits’!

In a shocking incident, the head Imam of Jama Masjid in Bijnor has been booked for raping a woman earlier this week. The Imam, Maulana Anwarul Haq (40), had allegedly been raping the 30-year-old woman on the pretext of ‘rescuing her from evil spirits’.

 

A case has been registered against the cleric based on the complaint filed by the victim.

On August 19, the woman’s husband and neighbours had thrashed him, and also clicked his video and photographs while he was caught in the act. has also gone viral on social media.

 

The woman, who hails from Kiratpur, said in her complaint that Maulana raped her and also made an obscene video of the act.

 

On August 12, Haq took the couple to Haridwar where they stayed in a hotel. The man has alleged that the cleric called his wife to his room on the pretext of performing rituals and raped her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she informed her husband,” said  Bijnor SP Umesh Kumar Srivastava.

 

Haq had earlier been in the news when he announced a reward of Rs 51 lakh on Hindu activist Kamlesh Tiwari, who was arrested for allegedly making objectionable comments against Prophet Muhammad in December last year.
