Senior bureaucrat and former IAS officer, Bal Kishan Bansal was recently found dead in their Madhu Vihar residence in Delhi. The former officer committed suicide along with his son Yogesh Bansal. Their bodies were discovered by their domestic help who immediately made a call to the Police control room.
Just over a month ago, Bal Kishan Bansal’s wife Satyabala and daughter Neha were found hanging from the ceiling of their Neelkanth apartment in East Delhi. According to the suicide notes retrieved from the crime site, the family took the extreme step as a result of the humiliation caused by CBI officials.
The entire incident commenced in the month of July when Bal Kishan Bansal was arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 9 Lakh from a Mumbai firm to foresee the investigations of fraud. The firm allegedly had duped 24,000 investors of over Rs. 176 crore.
The acceptance of bribe soon reached the CBI officials who undertook the investigation and arrested Bansal on July 19th. Within three days of the arrest, the MCA director-general’s wife and daughter were found dead in their apartment.
Unable to cope up with the circumstances, it didn’t take long for the rest of the family to let go off their lives either. Here’s a quick look at the timeline of events that drove this bureaucratic family to taking such a drastic step!
