This Dusshera, Effigies With Slogans like ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ & ‘Stop Terrorism’ Rise in Demand

With Ravana all set to go up in flames on Oct. 11, effigy-makers have got a special request from their customers this year. That is to make an extra effigy of 'terrorism' to be burned along with the tradtional three effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran & Meghnath.

 

In Amritsar, Punjab, an effigy was wrapped up in the Pakistan flag with the photo of its PM Nawaz Sharif affixed on top. 

 

"The reason we have affixed Nawaz Sharif`s photo because the country shelters terrorism, it promotes them and exports them to other countries. I believe that this will convey a message to Pakistan, that if it doesn`t reign in terrorists, it will meet the same end like this effigy," cabinet minister Anil Joshi told a news agency.
