Muslim Woman Who Was Lashed 40 times for Wearing a Miniskirt Became This to Have Her Revenge

Tala Raasi was just 16 when she was sentenced to 40 lashes for wearing a miniskirt at a party which was raided by a militants group. Punished for her outfit, she has now revealed how she has become a bikini designer in a snub to her persecutors.

 

At the time of the raid, Tala was dressed in a short skirt, tight top and wearing nail polish and make-up. The militants detained her along with a group of teenagers and was thrown in Tehran's notorious Vozara detention centre

 

There the detained girls were sentenced to 40 lashes each and 50 each for the boys.
After that brutal incident which occurred in 1998, Tala's family decided to relocate to the United States.

 

Despite Tala not speaking any English, she went on to launch a successful career as a fashion designer. Now aged 35, she has just launched her own swim wear line and released her own book.
