One of India’s most valuable player, Ravindra Jadeja turned 28 on the 6th of December. Having turned a year older, Jadeja in his cricketing career has not just proved to be India’s vital bowler, but is also regarded as a great fielder and a fairly good batsman.
Although Jadeja struggled in his initial days as a cricketer, his bowling skills soon fixed a permanent spot for him in the Indian team. And before one could realise, he turned out to be quite the all-rounder who not just impressed viewers with his on-field performance, but for wielding his bat like a sword as well.
Hailing from a middle-class family, Jadeja had to incur quite a few hardships early on in life. While his father was a night watchman struggling to make ends meet, his mother, a nurse died in the year 2005 when Jadeja was a mere 17-year-old. Disheartened, he sunk into depression with all intentions of quitting his beloved sport.
Mastering all courage there is, it was his mother’s dream to witness her son playing for team India that drove the little lad to success. A long way from the humble background and a noble start, Jadeja’s determination has taken him from Ravindra Jadeja to 'Sir' Ravindra Jadeja in no time at all.
