Gujarat is set to become home to the world’s biggest cricket stadium as the construction work begins. The stadium will be built in Ahmedabad and the existing Sarder Patel Stadium will be dismantled to make way for the new one.
The construction of the new stadium was bagged by India premier construction company Larsen & Toubro.
The Ahmedabad stadium will have a larger sitting capacity than the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) that can sit 1,00,000 spectators.
The recently demolished Sardar Patel Stadium could welcome only 50,000 guests during the matches.
