Suresh Raina marries Priyanka Chaudhary in April
Soon after India’s World Cup campaign ended, middle-order batting mainstay Suresh Raina married childhood friend Priyanka Chaudhary in a glittering ceremony. The wedding ceremony was attended by the who’s who of the cricket world including India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni, then ICC chairman N. Srinivasan, West Indeis all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming.
By the end of 2015, a lot had changed in Raina’s life – his form had dipped siginificantly and he blamed it on the constant shuffling in the batting-order. His IPL team of eight years, Chennai Super Kings was suspended for two years and the left-handed batsman found a new home in Rajkot. Will 2016 be any better? There are some stiff challenges waiting for him, starting with a tour of Australia and the ICC World T20.

Dinesh Karthik marries Dipika Pallikal in August
Dinesh Karthik had not played for India since their engagement against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup back in March, 2014. But he was still a top-draw in the IPL and his engagement to squash star Dipika Pallikal had made a lot of noise in the media. The duo tied the knot in a Christian ceremony on August 18 in Chennai, without the glitz and glamour that adorned Raina’s wedding four months back. Two days later, the pair married again, but this time they followed Hindu rituals.
By the end of 2015, nothing had changed for Karthik the cricketer – he was still far away from getting a national call-up but he seemed a visibly happier man.

Yuvraj Singh with Hazel Keech
