Teenager Gangraped by More than 30 Men in Brazil, Video Goes Viral

In a horrific incident, a 16-year-old girl was reportedly gang-raped by more than 30 men. The incident came to light when accused boasted about it by posting an online video of the victim.
 
The video shows the girl lying naked on a bed and the apparent rapists bragging that she had been raped by more than 30 men.
   
They assault is suspected to have taken place on May 21 in Rio de Janeiro, a city that will host the Olympic Games in August.
 
"There are strong indications that the young woman was raped. We cannot say whether there were 30 attackers, 33 or 36. The investigations will determine that," Rio Police Chief Fernando Veloso said while addressing a press conference.
 
According to the Veloso, police has identified four men suspected to "direct or indirect" part of the group that gang raped the girl or posted the video online.
 
The video, which was uploaded on Twitter, has sparked public outrage with people demanding strict actions against the perpetrator.
 
Meanwhile, reports are coming that in another incident; a 17-year-old girl was reportedly gang-raped by five people.
 
The UN women's rights agency has condemned the cases.   
 
"Apart from the fact that these are young women, these barbaric cases are similar in that the teenagers were lured by their attackers in premeditated plots," UN Women in Brazil spokeswoman Nadine Gasman said.
 
According to Brazilian police records, a sexual assault case was registered in every 11 minutes in 2014.
