Venkatesh Had Fallen in Love with Woman 9 Years Older than Him, but Couldn’t Propose Her

Former Indian cricketer Bapu Krishnarao Venkatesh Prasad is celebrating his 47th birthday today. His fans know very little about the camera-shy cricketer and this is why we are going to tell you about his personal life.

Venkatesh along with his teammate Javagal Srinath took bowling to new heights and they were amongst top performing bowlers at one point of time.

The cricketer married much older Jayanthi in Bangalore on April 22, 1996. Interestingly, it was his wife who proposed him.

Venkatesh is almost 9 years younger to his wife. He met Jayanthi in 1994 through Anil Kumble who was then working for Titan and she was the PRO of the company. At that time he was not a known face and it was Jayanthi who had proposed him.

Venkatesh tried to maintain a distance from Jayanthi but she kept calling and messaging him. His family was initially a little worried about this match, as he was very young. On top of that, some media reports claimed that Jayanthi was a divorcee.

After many phone calls and meetings, love finally bloomed between them. The couple has now completed 20 years of their married life and they have a son Pruthvi (meaning Earth).

Venkatesh was dropped from the team in 2001 and despite several attempts; he failed to make a comeback. After retirement, he became bowling coach of the Under-19 cricket team in 2006.

He was even appointed bowling coach of Indian cricket team in 2007 after the poor performance of the bowlers. But he was removed from the post in 2009. He is currently bowling coach of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore.
