When PM Modi’s One Call Got National Highway 8 Going Again after Two Months

India is a nation that either requires muscle power or a word from PM to get things done. And that’s what happened recently when PM Modi got National Highway 8 going again after two months after he made one call to an IAS officer in Tripura.

For the uninitiated, a post on Quora made quite a stir after one Pushpak Chakravarty shared the info that on the night of 21st July, PM Modi spoke to an IAS officer and told him that Central government will provide whatever help Assam and Tripura need to get the National Highway 8 going again. Post this, for four days the reconstruction of the highway happened and on the fifth day the highway got operational once again. This highway was not working for the past two months.

Not just this, PM Modi even apologized to the IAS for the delay in doing the needful. It goes without saying that the IAS could not sleep the entire night thereafter. In the morning when he reached office, he received calls from Assam, Tripura as well as central government post which funds for the reconstruction of the 15 km stretch of highway was allotted.

When the highway got functional, the next day Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari thanked the IAS over the phone and assured him that funds will be allotted to get National Highway 44 repaired soon.
