‘Aur Ek Sacch’ is a Hindi play that shows how women are ensnared by rituals, superstitions, taboos and social mores and, as a result, are trapped by men who exploit their vulnerability and ignorance. The play is based on true incidents and shows two old and lonely women who have no family support. They remember their life, their men, lust and the pitfalls of a patriarchal society and also suggest how relationship between men and women can be improved.
The play touches serious and sensitive issues of child marriage, marital rape, manipulation through religion or societal norms and abandonment through divorce or bigamy, among others.
